

There has been no further communication from the social network, or its WhatsApp, Messenger or Instagram offshoots, since the initial admission the platforms were experiencing issues earlier this evening. UPDATE 4/10 21:15pm BST: The serious outage involving all of the major Facebook-owned platforms has entered its fifth hour. We’ve been working hard to restore access to our apps and services and are happy to report they are coming back online now. The company wrote: “To the huge community of people and businesses around the world who depend on us: we’re sorry. In a statement posted to Twitter at 11:33pm on Monday evening, Facebook apologised for the outage. UPDATE 2: 4/10 11:55pm BST: After an outage lasting around 7 hours, Facebook and Facebook-owned services like WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram are now coming back online.
