Try taking JohnBW's good advice and do a further scan with at least one of the non-realtime scanners that he suggested. I'm fairly sure though that if you did have the Sasser infection, MalwareBytes would have found it. How are you starting the Command prompt ? By double clicking on the cmd.exe or by typing cmd in the 'run' utility ? So maybe the Sasser Worm is what is going on! Maybe I DO have a bug, but I ran MWB yesterday and I keep MSE running. Likewise, if I enter tasklist in the Windows search box, the the thing flashes and closes again. This situation is where a backup image can be a huge time saver! I will add that if you do get this worked out, and hopefully you do, there is nothing like the peace of mind that a good backup system imaging routine can offer. You have received some good advice from the boys and girls in this thread that you will need to consider. Resolving a software issue can take both time and patience. If not, you can be certain it is a software issue on your original drive.
If that runs well, you will know that your hardware is good.
If you have a spare hard drive, you could temporarily unplug your primary hard drive, and try a clean Windows install on the spare drive.
